MoKe Experience Pavilion: A Multi-Sensory Journey

Designers Zhou You and Cao Liang Create an Immersive Retail Space

Immerse yourself in the world of MoKe, a new ink brand for the new generation of literati. This article explores the innovative design of the MoKe Experience Pavilion, a retail space that engages all five senses to provide a unique shopping experience.

Perception is a two-way street, and the designers of the MoKe Experience Pavilion have taken this concept to heart. Rather than relying solely on visual appeal, Zhou You and Cao Liang have created a space that stimulates all five senses, providing a richer and more immersive experience than traditional retail environments.

The MoKe Experience Pavilion is divided into four distinct spaces, each designed to engage a different sense. Visitors can explore the olfactory, auditory, tactile, and gustatory spaces, each filled with unique elements that reflect the brand's ethos. From the silk cloth of Chinese art paper texture in the olfactory space to the black cobble floor in the auditory space, every detail is carefully considered to create a strong visual impact and convey the brand's concept to consumers.

The designers have also made thoughtful use of color. The brand's logo and visual identity are rendered in stark black and white, creating a striking contrast that enhances the visual impact and aids in brand recognition. This color scheme is carried through the entire design, unifying the different sensory spaces and creating a cohesive brand experience.

One of the unique features of the MoKe Experience Pavilion is its tattoo parlor. This unconventional addition is designed to attract the new generation of literati, encouraging them to engage with the brand in a deeply personal way. By tattooing their products, consumers can express their individuality and form a strong connection with the brand.

The MoKe Experience Pavilion is not just a retail space, but a testament to the power of design in creating meaningful brand experiences. By engaging all five senses, Zhou You and Cao Liang have created a space that is not just visually appealing, but also tactile, auditory, olfactory, and gustatory. This multi-sensory approach not only enhances the consumer experience, but also conveys the brand's concept in a unique and memorable way.

The MoKe Experience Pavilion is a shining example of innovative retail design, and its success has not gone unnoticed. In 2019, the design was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award, a prestigious accolade that recognizes outstanding expertise and innovation in design. With its strong visual impact and multi-sensory approach, the MoKe Experience Pavilion is a deserving recipient of this award.
